When we look at traditional suspended ceiling designs, we see
high functionality solution has not contributed to the design of the place
where it is applied preferred. Today, the situation has changed; we encounter
suspended eye-catching ceiling applications integrated with the general design
concept of the building in addition to its functionality.
In this context, the Aspen family cares about supporting
design ideas from the free imagination of architect candidates who follow
today's requirements. We announced a two-stage student suspended ceiling design
competition will be held for the first time this year, with the motto
"Ceiling Your Dreams".
We have prepared a selection of extraordinary architectural
suspended ceiling designs, implemented in collaboration with Aspen, that we
think will inspire the competitors and anyone interested in suspended ceiling
designs;
Pulkovo Airport;
Pulkovo Airport was built in St. Petersburg and designed by the Grimshaw London Office. The design of this grand project had inspired by the history and nature of the city. The form of the waves of the Neva River had carried to the ceilings. Different areas had created connected by bridges like its surroundings. Ceiling work under the indoor roof construction of Pulkovo Airport was designed based on the structure of triangular forms in the architecture of the city's centuries-old cathedrals.
Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport
The main design idea of the project had designed by Hazan
Architecture is based on open spaces. It has aimed to emphasize that the
relationship of airports with the sky is an inseparable part of the whole. With
the Aspen product, Integra Wood Looked Metal Suspended Ceiling Systems had used
in the ceiling element design of the building. So a functional, warm and
natural atmosphere had created. With the application, a three-dimensional
visuality had also obtained.
Aspen contributed to the realization of this approach with
the products and systems used in the project. In addition to being unique and
aesthetic, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport New Domestic Terminal is structurally
compatible and functional with the earthquake zone.
Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport
Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, which
has been planned as a project with a capacity of 18 million passengers, was
designed by Istanbul-based GMW Architecture. The inspiration for the
architectural concept was the palm tree of the region. "Integra Special
Solutions/Wooden Look" unique design curved metal suspended ceiling
systems, where traditional motifs meet with modern architecture establish a
relationship with other building components (wall, facade, roof, etc.).
Bodrum Airport
Bodrum Milas Airport Project's construction had completed in 2012 whose design project belongs to Tabanlıoğlu Architecture. It was designed by taking the accumulations and local textures of Bodrum into the centre. The building allows its users to experience the spirit of the place they came from and left with all details. The suspended ceiling design used in the project was also specially designed by Tabanlıoğlu. Suspended ceilings using Integra Metal Suspended Ceiling Systems come to life thatch coatings used on the facades of classical Bodrum houses with a modern representation, decorate the ceilings of Bodrum Milas Airport.
IT Valley
The entrance hall of the administrative tower of the complex,
which had thought to be a technology centre and designed by OSO Architecture,
was based on the necessity of reflecting technology and interior designs had
created in this direction. Organic and curvilinear forms and materials that
will put forward the technology were preferred.
In addition, technological elements such as robotic arm,
hologram, interactive led screen, which will reinforce this setup in interiors,
have been integrated into the spaces as significant elements of the design. The
3 robotic arms on the reception counter with synchronized choreography,
informing the visitors as well as forming the first impressions of the visitors
about the place and the complex.
The unique suspended ceiling design on the reception counter,
produced with Aspen technology, provides continuity in the space with its form
language and fulfils the function of lighting.
